DEARBORN — Money from donation boxes was stolen from two mosques broken into this week in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, according to officials from the Islamic House of Wisdom (IHW) and the Islamic Center of America (ICA).An ICA employee said Dearborn police have been given surveillance footage of a suspect caught by cameras there early Friday morning.The IHW was burglarized Tuesday morning. Police authorized to speak to the press could not be reached by press time.It wasn’t clear how much was stolen. IHW Imam Mohammad Elahi said the amount taken was substantial. An ICA official who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak about the crime said the money taken was not very significant.A brick was thrown through a glass door at the IHW. It wasn’t clear how the ICA was broken into.
