Dearborn — Each year Henry Ford Village, a full service retirement community in Dearborn, pays tribute to members of their student dining services staff by crowning “honorary” kings and queens. The students are nominated and elected by their peers.  Mary Voiles, staff development manager, announced the latest honorees as Queen Jaunique Hardaway and King Ahmed Saleh from the St. Clair Dining Room; Queen Sueha Nasser and King Ali Bazzy representing the Great Lakes Dining Room; Queen Regina Hamilton and King Jay Ruffin from Windows Café; and from Renaissance Gardens Dining Queen Bianca Benguche and King Bilal Elkadri.  Each recipient received a commemorative crown and banner at the annual ceremony which takes place during a holiday celebration created for the staff.

Henry Ford Village offers after-school jobs to over 150 area students.  The students fill a variety of positions in the dining services department including serving meals to community members and assisting with food preparation in the campus kitchens. Students who work a minimum of 500 hours for two consecutive years, typically during their junior and senior year of high school or freshman year of college, are eligible for up to a $4000 scholarship to the educational institution of their choice.

Students must also have excellent relationships with their peers.
