Local dealership to host FREE Child Safety Program on Saturday, June 7. Parents encouraged to bring their children.
DEARBORN — As a service to the community, Fairlane Ford at 14585 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn is offering a free DNA LifePrint Child Safety Event on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
The program will provide parents with important tools recommended by the FBI, the Department of Justice, and “America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh for finding their lost child in an emergency situation.
“We treasure the children of our community and wish to participate in anything that protects them,” says Julie Turla, President of Fairlane Ford.
Included in the program for each parent are four free items: an FBI-certified 10-digit fingerprint profile, a high-resolution digital photo, a child safety form with necessary information about your child, and a home DNA identification kit that is easy to use and durable.
If a child becomes missing, parents greatly increase their chances of finding them by providing these materials. Law enforcement officials stress that time is critical in the recovery of a missing child. When a child’s fingerprints are entered into the FBI database, the fingerprints become immediately available to all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
