DEARBORN — The 13th Annual Dearborn Arab International Festival took place last weekend and attracted well over 100,000 people from across the country and parts of Canada. The American Arab Chamber of Commerce, along with its partners, Ford Motor Company, A.C.C.E.S.S., the City of Dearborn and the Lebanese American Heritage Club transformed more than 14 blocks of East Dearborn into what is considered the largest Arab American celebration in the United States.
The Arab International Festival featured several ethnic performances that represented the many diverse communities in Metro Detroit.
In addition, there were dozens of amusement rides for children featuring a giant old-fashioned ferris wheel, face-painting, jugglers, magicians and a even a huge children’s tent that allowed kids to create their own pieces of art.
Arab culture merchandise featuring local and international artisans was on showcase for the thousands of festival-goers. 30 food booths offered the finest and most delicious Middle Eastern food. Other attractions included fashion shows and unique musical acts.
