DEARBORN — The Dearborn Recreation Department’s Summer Theatre Fest program will present Disney’s “High School Musical” on stage in the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center’s Michael A. Guido Theater on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-23, at 8 p.m.
Reserved seating tickets are $15 and $10 per person and are available by phone at (313) 943-2354. You can also buy tickets at the center’s box office, which is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and before performances.
Disney’s High School Musical featuring your favorite characters and songs, is directed by Mary Bremer and presented by a cast of local, talented theatrical performers.
Following the plot of the popular motion picture, the story tells the tale of two high school students from rival cliques —Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy transfer student who excels in math and science — who try out for the lead parts in their high school musical and divide the school.
Despite the other students’ attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others not to “stick with the status quo!”
With all the songs from the Disney Channel movie plus two new numbers, this high energy production is a “must see!”
Disney’s High School Musical On Stage is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
