Detroit — The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) will host its 29th Annual Civic and Humanitarian Awards Gala at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center, 100 Renaissance Center, at 6 p.m. Sept. 13.
ACC is dedicating its annual fundraiser this year to honoring foundations that have joined ACC in the development of the Seven Mile Initiative. Proceeds from the gala work throughout the year to support ACC’s many programs and services.
Dr. Richard Florida, author of the book “The Rise of the Creative Class,” is scheduled as keynote speaker. Esquire Magazine named Florida one of the “Best and Brightest of 2005.”
Detroit Economic Club President and CEO Beth Chappell will emcee the program.
Honorees, based on their contributions to the city and their dedication to rebuilding communities will be: Comerica Charitable Foundation, DTE Energy Foundation, John S. and James L.
