Novi — The Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) is scheduled to host its 7th annual dinner on Saturday, November 15 in Novi, Michigan. The event will begin at 7 pm at the Novi Sheraton. This year’s dinner will feature keynote speaker Dr. Robert A. Pape who will present on the topic, “How the next president can make America safer.”

Pape’s most recent book is “Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism,” (Random House, June 2005). His current work focuses on American grand strategy, causes and solutions to suicide terrorism, the logic of soft balancing in a unipolar world, and the limits and advantages of precision air power. His commentary on international security policy has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times as well as on Nightline, ABC News, CNN, and NPR.
ISPU was established in 2001 on the premise that every community must address, debate and contribute to the pressing issues that face our nation. ISPU’s research aims to increase understanding of key policy issues and how they impact various communities with an emphasis on the Muslim community in the United States. ISPU does this through publications, public events, media commentary, and community research. The work of ISPU has resonated with national, state and local policymakers, and with members of the philanthropic and policy research community.
