DEARBORN – The city has suspended Public Service Days parking rules until April 6 because heavy snowfall has made it difficult for residents to find alternative places to park, officials said in a release.
Parking along city streets is normally prohibited on each Dearborn neighborhood’s trash pickup day between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the first and third full weeks of the month.
Removing vehicles from the streets allows city crews curb-to-curb access for services like snow plowing and street sweeping.
“Residents who usually park in nearby alleys may not be able to do so because snow has piled up in those alleys,” said city spokespeople in a release on Jan. 30.
Public Service Days parking enforcement will begin again the week of April 6.
Residents are still encouraged to remove parked vehicles from streets if possible on their designated service weeks.
