DEARBORN HEIGHTS — Republican candidate for Michigan attorney general Bill Schuette met with a group of fundraisers that included Arab Americans Tuesday in Dearborn Heights at Antonio’s Cucina Italiana.

“I’ll be a person who hears voices and meets with people about their concerns within law enforcement,” he said.
“I will have an attorney general’s office that’s a slice of Michigan… I’ll be an inclusive type of person. That’s what I’ve always been. I’ll have an office that’s based on competence and inclusion.”
Current Attorney General Mike Cox last week endorsed Schuette, a former Court of Appeals Judge.
Schuette’s up against Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop, who’s also hoping to win the GOP nomination when party activists meet in late August.
Cox said last week said Schuette has “the perfect mix of experience and commitment to public safety.”
Schuette’s also gained endorsements from former state GOP Chairman Saul Anuzis and former Governor John Engler.
The term-limited Cox is running for governor.
Attorney Richard Bernstein and Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton are vying for the Democratic nomination for attorney general.
