DETROIT — CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Daniel Loepp spoke to the Arab American and Chaldean Council’s Board of Directors and Advisory Board on March 8, addressing the state’s economic outlook and health care reform.

Loepp described the health care industry as a rare economic bright spot in the state, while touting the Blues’ practice of “offering coverage to anyone who applies – regardless of their health status.”
“We are already operating in the way the Obama Administration and Congress think insurers should operate in the post-reform world,” he said.

He also spoke on strengthening ties with Arab and Chaldean American communities through linguistic, feedback and business initiatives.

“We’ve been able to broaden understanding of the Arab and Chaldean markets, as well as unique health care needs in the community.”
