The Dearborn Stars soccer club held a kick-off dinner at the Lebanese American Heritage Club on Wednesday, April 28 with a new season in the Michigan Premier Soccer League’s First Division set to begin on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Stars will play the Italian American Cultural Association team at San Marino field in Warren.

This year, Manager/Head Coach Abbas Abou Khodr has big goals for his team.

“So far we already have about 20 very good players and I promise this season that we will be champions,” he said. “Last year we had some players suffer injuries and leave to go overseas but this year they’re all going to stick around. We have been in the top five every year but this year we will be champions, inshallah.”
