FLINT — Elias Abuelazam, a 33-year-old suspect accused of stabbing 14 men, most of them African Americans, in the Flint area along with four others in Virginia and Ohio, was arraigned on one charge of assault with intent to murder in Flint’s 68th District Court on Thursday, August 26 according to The Detroit Free Press. Abuelazam was charged in one of the non-lethal attacks in the Flint area and will be held without bond in the Gennessee County Jail.
He will be back for a pretrial hearing on August 31 and is expected to have more charges filed against him relating to the other 17 attacks he is suspected in.
The suspect is a citizen of a mixed Arab-Israeli town in Israel and was arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport on August 11 while trying to board a flight to Tel Aviv. He was extradited from Atlanta to Michigan early Thursday according to reports.
