DEARBORN — First United Methodist Church of Dearborn is to host their 28th annual Festival Of Quilts on October 8  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 9 from 10 to 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 22124 Garrison, Dearborn. The Festival will honor the church’s 200-year anniversary and showcase 200 quilts including 30 quilts from famous artist Kathleen Mayo, which have won numerous awards. In addition to the quilt display, the festival will also host vendors, a silent auction, a hospitality lounge and a quilt contest with cash prizes. This year’s contest theme is “celebration.” This will be the second year the church has sponsored a quilt contest.   There will also be a salad luncheon for $7.
