The Arab Commnity Center for Social and Economic Services (ACCESS) has partnered with WISDOM, the InterFaith Leadership Council, City Year and 1 By Youth and Leadership Detroit for an event entitled “Acts of Kindness (A-OK) Detroit: A Weekend of Remembrance and Restoration.”
This weekend will mark the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks in New York. In an effort to make the day a National Day of Service and Remembrance, organizations in the area are encouraging the community to engage in a variety of projects around the city on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Clark Park, 1130 Clark Street, in Detroit.ACCESS volunteers plan to install new park benches, paint a mural, and clean up parks around the city while providing food and supplies for the volunteers.
