DEARBORN — Ford Motor Company partnered with Village Ford and helped raise $5,300 for Dearborn High School (DHS) as part of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program on Tuesday, Sep.14.
Approximately 265 people from Dearborn helped by test driving a Ford vehicle. For each participant from different households, Ford and Village Ford donated $20 to DHS.
Since the start of the program in 2007, Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program has raised more than $3.3 million for nearly 700 high schools across the country. The money raised has helped fund extracurricular activities like sports and band programs.
“Funding extracurricular programs can be a challenge as budgets tighten up,” said Pam Phillips, teacher and student advisor at Dearborn High School. “We are moved by Ford’s and Village Ford’s commitment to help our community.”
Village Ford has participated in the Drive One 4 UR School program for two years and has raised over $46,000 for high schools in Dearborn the program and other charitable events.
“We are excited that so many people from the local community turned out to support DHS. The day was a win for the school, the students and all participants.” said Robert Wheat, General Manager of Village Ford.
