The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee-Michigan (ADC) is holding its ninth annual judges night reception at the Byblos Banquet Center in Dearborn on Oct. 28 at 6.p.m. Local judges including Judge Mark Plawecki of the 20th District Court, and Judge Annette Berry of Wayne County Circuit Court will be presented with the Guardian of Justice Award for upholding civil rights values. Freedom House will be given a special tribute from ADC, the Arab American and Chaldean Council and the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services. Freedom House has a history of aiding those who have been persecuted unjustly around the world, and provides legal, medical, mental health, education, job training and transitional housing to refugees. Sandra Ali, WDIV anchor woman, will be the night’s mistress of ceremonies.
