DEARBORN — High school juniors and seniors in technical programs can now earn college credit in one of 17 different degree and certificate programs from Henry Ford Community College.
The program, which is entitled Career and Technical Education Secondary Partnerships, lets students earn three to 16 credits before graduation.
“We continue to work extremely hard to increase the number of articulation agreements we have with area high schools, which in turn increases the articulated credit opportunities available to students,” said Leslie Kellogg, program coordinator in a press release. Currently HFCC has 236 agreements with 44 high schools in 36 school districts.
The program is funded by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant. Kellogg and the HFCC are working with South East Michigan Community Alliance’s (SEMCA) Education Advisory Group and other partners in the region to increase schools’ and students’ awareness about the program and encourage them to earn credit.
