Naim Homaidan, age 68, of the famed local area duo Rana and Naim, passed away on January 23, 2011 after falling in his home which led to fatal internal injuries. He is survived by his wife, Rana, daughter Nagham and his brother Bahij Homaidan. He will be buried in California, per his wishes.
The family will accept condolences at the American Druze Society (ADS) on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm; phone number 313.701.6040
A great talent in our community, Naim worked for decades educating youth on how to play traditional Middle Eastern instruments such as the Oud, among others. His talents were diverse as he played numerous instruments, performed with his wife, Rana, and sang. We at The Arab American News extend our condolences to the Homaidan family and their friends.
“Naim served the community for many years, performing at concerts, weddings, events and he and his wife Rana were frequent entertainers at the Annual Arab International Festival in Dearborn for many years,” says Ali Jawad, founder of the LAHC and a friend of Naim and Rana. “This truly is a loss to our community and our sincere condolences go to Rana and the Homaidan family. They are in our thoughts and prayers.”
