DETROIT — The Jewish Law Student Association, Middle East Law Students Association and Wayne State University Dean of Students Office are sponsoring, “Israel and the Arab Media: A discussion on the portrayal of Israel in the domestic and international Arab media.” Panel guests include Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News. TAAN is the largest Arab American newspaper in the United States. Its weekly circulation is 35,000. The publication is 26-years-old. Panel guest Dr. Mordechai Kedar served for 25 years in the Israeli army intelligence specializing in Syria, Arab political discourse, Arab mass media, Islamic groups and Israeli Arabs. Nolan Finley, editorial page editor of The Detroit News and a Wayne State University Alumni is moderating the discussion. Finley is known for pro-Israeli stances.
