DEARBORN — In celebration of Islamic Awareness Week the Muslim Student Association of Henry Ford Community College is holding a number of fun and interesting events. On Tuesday Feb. 15 from 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Jacqueline El Sayed, PHD and director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is hosting, “The Role of Muslim Women in America.” The MSU will have an exclusive premier of the movie Allah Made Me Funny on Wednesday Feb. 16 from 1-2:45 p.m. Imam Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations-Michigan is the guest speaker for, “Islam FAQs” which is being presented Thursday Feb. 17 from 1-2:30 p.m. All events will take place inside the HFCC liberal arts building L-14. On Friday, Feb. 18 the MSU will be commemorating the prophet Muhammad’s birthday in the HFCC ASCC building, Rosenau room. The event is from 6-9 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be a silent auction from 5:30-7 p.m. It will include speaker Imam Mustapha Elturk, raffle, henna, clown and more.
