DEARBORN — Mother of the Savior Church in Dearborn and the Alliance for Immigrants Rights-Michigan (AIR) will host a bilingual (English and Arabic) “Know Your Rights” meeting for immigrant families on Sunday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Attendees will have the opportunity for a free consultation with an immigration attorney at the event and important information for immigrants will be given out as well.
Presentations will address topics such as: immigrants’ rights when dealing with police or enforcement agencies, how to make a plan for children in case of deportation, how to protect yourself in case of an immigration raid or traffic stop, situations that may allow immigrants to adjust their immigration status, where to find free or low-cost legal resources and more.
Discussions about organizing communities to fight immigration laws and to address other issues of concern will also be held.
