DEARBORN — The Telford postal station in Dearborn will close
on June 25th because of customer declines from private companies like FedEx and
UPS cutting into business. Internet shipping is also having a big impact as is
a struggling economy leading to a massive drop-off in the amount of mail being
sent from last year.
No jobs will be cut according to postal officials, however,
as they say that workers will be sent to other locations. The post office is
located at the corner of Ford and Telegraph; another one, the Fisher Station in
midtown Detroit, will also close according to WXYZ’s website.
