KANSAS CITY — Passenger Jacob Jester, a reverend, shot a
photo of an 8-month-old baby being patted down by TSA agents at Kansas City
International Airport that has once again raised questions of overzealous
security measures.
Mainstream news sources have questioned the radiation
delivered by body scanners as capable of contributing to cancer leading great
numbers of travelers to “opt-out” for a pat-down. Officials have said
they are safe, however.
Jester posted the photo on Twitter, which has been viewed
hundreds of thousands of times according to NBC News.
The TSA posted a response on its blog according to reports:
“We reviewed the screening of this family, and found that the child’s
stroller alarmed during explosives screening. Our officers followed proper
current screening procedures by screening the family after the alarm, who by
the way were very cooperative and were on the way to their gate in no
time.”
