LANSING — Gov.
Rick Snyder has had a series of sweeping tax changes sent back to him to be
signed after close votes in the Michigan House and Senate. Business taxes will
be cut, some tax credits will be eliminated and tax breaks for retirees and
low-income workers will also be reduced under the plans, which were approved by
the Republican-majority House by a tally of 56-52. The Senate earlier voted
20-19 with some Republicans voting against the contentious bill because of
income tax provisions according to a report by WWJ.
