DEARBORN — The Alliance for Immigrants Rights & Reform
(AIR) will be holding three important meetings in the month of June in regards
to immigration awareness. The events will help educate immigrants and community
members of their rights and acknowledge the struggles that immigrants face in
Michigan. The first event on June 1, being held at ACCESS in Dearborn, will be
training families and individuals who need help with immigration. On June 4,
another event will be held at ACCESS by AIR for their “Summer Without
Fear” campaign, where the organization hopes they can educate community
members about their rights. On June 11, AIR will hold an Arts Launch event at
the Café con Leche coffee house in Southwest Detroit (near Clark Park) that
will showcase immigrant struggles through poetry readings, stories, photos and
film.
