The show is expected to begin near the end of August on Sundays from 6-7 p.m and will be streamed online at www.MCGold.net and on the IP World Box channel.
It is being produced by members of the Young Leaders Club at the LAHC and will be hosted by high-achieving Henry Ford Community College Students Hussein Hachem and Batool Saad.
Its mission is to provide a forum for key issues facing local Arab American youth and to shine the spotlight on local events and organizations.
“We need shows like this to be able to express ourselves, shows where we are the ones producing,” said guest speaker Ali F. Beydoun, the president of the Arab American Student Union at Wayne State University.
“This show is symbolic of the important youth movement in the community.”
LAHC Executive Director Wassim Mahfouz also offered his support.
“You are ambassadors who will represent us in the greater American society,” Mahfouz said. “Hussein and Batool have already proven themselves as very promising young leaders.”
Hachem said the show has a research team ready to go and a list of topics including education, health, immigration issues and more. The emphasis will be on finding common ground in the American society and guests from other communities will also be invited to join discussions. The show will also film on-site at various local events.
“Together we can do great things while also celebrating our individuality, just like a mosaic picture,” he said.
“The goal is to make a show that is by the youth, for the youth,” Saad said. “We want to show Dearborn’s pride throughout the new generation.”
The YLC organization also has a Facebook group titled “Young Leaders Committee at the LAHC.”
