DEARBORN — The new Manderin Cafe held its grand opening celebration Friday, July 29 as Dearborn Mayor Jack O’Reilly and other local dignitaries including councilwoman Nancy Hubbard visited for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Guests were served fresh tropical and strawberry banana smoothies and tabbouli and subs, sampling the fresh food classics offered by the cafe.
Owner Mohamed Chekih and his wife Rouwaida serve up items such as steak and chicken subs, the famous Manderin burger, corned beef, soups, salads, fruit cocktails and more as part of its all-halal menu which is available for delivery as well. Manager Fatima Cheikh Jaffal said that the cafe uses fresh ingredients, making two trips a day for meat and never using frozen ingredients, and strives to create new flavors while maintaining top-level cleanliness.
The Cheikh family owns the plaza where Manderin is now located and has been operating businesses since 1972 in the city including the nearby bike shop and United International Travel Agency. The location is 10386 W. Warren and the restaurant is open 10 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday-Sunday with special late-night Ramadan hours.
