WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will give remarks at a Labor Day event on Sept. 5 sponsored by the Metro Detroit Central Labor Council, the White House announced this past week.
Obama’s visit is expected to bring out large crowds, with as many as 100,000 people expected compared with usual estimates of 50-60,000.
The event’s parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit.
