LANSING — State welfare recipients will not be able to use state-issued debit cards to draw cash from several new locations if a group of new bills passes as expected in the Senate.
The bills passed 108-0 on Wednesday of last week and would restrict users of state-issued debit cards from drawing cash from casino ATMs, buying lotto tickets, alcohol or tobacco. In Michigan, income determines food assistance along with the number of people in each household.
