LANSING — Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced last week that the office will now allow Michigan residents to complete new transactions online that once required visits.
The new online services include: renewing or replacing standard state driver’s licenses and ID cards, changing an address after a move, and ordering multiple copies of registrations and titles for vehicles.
A total of about 10 million people visit SOS offices each year according to Johnson, with long waits the most common customer complaint. More transactions are also expected to be made available later including enhanced license or ID card renewals or requests of duplicates. The website address for the services is ExpressSOS.com.
