DETROIT — Five southeast Michigan residents accused of running an online prostitution ring and human trafficking in drugs and sex face a laundry list of felony charges including racketeering, Attorney General Bill Schuette announced this week.
The five include Mustaffa Hassan Muhammad, 31, of Detroit; his estranged wife, Tara Muhammad, 32, of Chesterfield Township; Brooklyn Marie Siebert, 29, of Warren; Rita Jean Jemison, 25, of Detroit; and Jason Michael Sherrill, 31, of Detroit. They are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Southfield.
According to the attorney general, the Muhammads were ringleaders of the group, which operated for a time from the website “Detroit Pink,” providing prostitutes for $300 an hour, including one who told investigators she was only 15 years old when she was in the Muhammads’ employ. Mustaffa Muhammad is also accused of forcing one woman to serve as a drug runner.
