DEARBORN — The National Marrow Donor Program’s North Central Region will be holding a donor drive in honor of Amal Fawaz, a 26 year old single mother of two who is suffering from stage IV cancer, the most severe stage of lymphoma. In this stage, tumors spread to organs such as the liver and the stomach, as well as many lymph nodes.
The drive will provide local community members with the opportunity to join others on the Be The Match registry, which is operated by the NMDP. The drive will take place on Wednesday, March 21 at Greenfield Manor (4470 Greenfield) in Dearborn from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
