DEARBORN — The city of Dearborn announced on Thursday that Mohamad I. Chehab has been appointed to Dearborn’s Civil Service Commission. The four current commissioners, under the Dearborn City Charter, appointed Chehab.
The voluntary board is responsible for setting policies in hiring, promoting and terminating certain city employees. The commissioners all serve a four-year term without compensation.
Chehab’s previous work includes working 20 years in the customer service airline industry and his current position as manager/performance leader with Delta Air Lines. His areas of expertise include staffing, scheduling, training, managing employees and budgets and ensuring corporate stands are met.
Chehab has been a Dearborn resident for 41 years. He has three children with his wife Dima.
The Civil Service Commission meetings typically take place every third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. at city hall. Meetings are open to the public.
