DEARBORN – On Tuesday, a lawsuit was filed against Wayne County for more than $5 million by relatives of a Dearborn man who was stabed to death with a pencil in prison.
The man is 51-year-old Jeffrey Horvath, who was allegedly attacked in a mental health observation area according to The Detroit News. Horvath’s family says he was put in a cell with an inmate that officials should have known was dangerous after his toilet was broken. The cellmate is being held without bond and charged with first-degree premeditated murder.
