DEARBORN — Dr. Gail Mee, the president of Henry Ford Community College (HFCC), has been named by The Chair Academy as the recipient of the 2012 Idahlynn Kárre International Exemplary Leadership Award.

Mee, who has been the president of HFCC since 2006, was recognized for her ability to advance academic and administrative leadership in the field of higher education. She was nominated by faculty and administrators. The Chair Academy is an organization dedicated to developing and advancing leadership in academia and administration for post-secondary educational institutions worldwide. The award is named after Dr. Idahlynn Kárre, an international educational consultant and speaker who has been a professor, administrator, author, international speaker, and leader of education innovation.
“I am very honored to receive this prestigious award,” Mee said. “Dr. Karre was an outstanding innovator whose achievements are truly an inspiration. At Henry Ford Community College, we are committed to the success of every student and it is through the work of our faculty and staff that we have made significant progress toward that goal. I thank them for their commitment and feel that this award should be shared with the entire College community.”
