DEARBORN – State Rep. George T. Darany is hoping to serve for another two years, as he announced on Tuesday that he will run for reelection as a representative for Michigan’s 15th House District.
Darany served on the Dearborn City Council for four years and has been active in community causes, and he has owned and operated the Classic Trolley Company.
“It’s unfortunate, but the middle class, our kids, and our seniors were forgotten during the last year and a half by the legislature,” Darany said in a press release. “We’ve seen a tax on our seniors, cuts to our classrooms, and unnecessary burdens placed on our working families through the reduction of the homestead property tax credit and the elimination of charitable tax credits – all to give large corporations a massive tax break.”
He also said that he believes the government needs to get back to serving the people instead of corporate interests while noting the economic struggles of many families.
