DEARBORN — The American Arab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected a new Executive Committee during its recent meeting May 17.

“I am delighted to have gained the confidence of our Board in moving forward an agenda of growth and stability,” newly elected AACC Chairman Ali Dagher said. “It is my goal to reach out to our membership and grow the organization. The Chamber is one of the strongest and most essential institutions in our community and its growth and vitality is critical.”
Dagher is the co-founder of the AACC and an attorney who specializes in commercial transactions and litigation, international business, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He’s also an experienced lobbyist and negotiator who has worked on behalf of special interest groups and companies within local municipalities, the state of Michigan and throughout the Mideast.
Other officials elected to the board include Amal Berry-Brown, First Vice Chair, Vice President of National Arab Chaldean American Business Affairs, Nafa Khalaf, Second Vice Chair, President of Detroit Contracting, Mo Sabbagh, Treasurer, Vice President of Business Banking with Chase, James Berry, Secretary, Wayne County Assistant Corporation Counsel.
Also, the Board reelected Board Members Amal Berry-Brown, Mo Sabbagh, James Berry, Dr. Daw R. Alwerfalli, Dr. Yahya Basha, Fred Eaton and Hassan Jaber. The American Arab Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1992, is the largest American Arab business organization.
“On behalf of the Chamber staff, members, sponsors, and friends, we would like to congratulate the new AACC Executive Committee,” said AACC Executive Director, Fay Beydoun. “Much of our success is owed to the contribution and diligent efforts of the AACC Executive Committee and the AACC Board of Directors, and we appreciate their willingness to serve, as we continue our great tradition of excellence and achievement.”
Speaking to The Arab American News Dagher said he wants to continue the tradition of great leadership past chairmen have shown.
He noted the contributions former Chairman Ahmed Chabbani has made to help grow the Chamber, and expressed much gratitude for the level of trust the Board has put in him.
