The Wayne County Commission officially reprimanded Robert Ficano June 7, holding him accountable for what they believe is corruption on his behalf. The censure was passed by a vote of 14-1. Commissioner Laura Cox voted no in protest that the motion was not severe enough. The resolution originally called for Ficano to resign, but was changed to a censure after some criticism that the resolution did not state his name.
Ficano said he hopes that the censure helps him move forward in amending his past discrepancies. The County Executive shows no sign of stepping down.
