DEARBORN — Dearborn’s 33rd annual Homecoming festival is August 3rd to the 5th in Ford Field Park this year. The festival is held by the City of Dearborn and the Dearborn Community Fund and allows over 30 nonprofit groups to raise money for good causes.
Dearborn’s homecoming has plenty to do for the whole family, from concerts to fireworks to applesauce slurping contests. The festival also offers many free events, such as the children’s games from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday or the free fishing derby from 8 a.m. to 11a.m. on Saturday.
Besides the bands that will be on stage, there will be strolling entertainers at the festival. The Homecoming will also have over two dozen rides, so there will be something to entertain the whole family.
The festival will also have several food vendors present selling lemonade, walking tacos and other treats. These booths raise about $70,000 each year, which goes to rescuing animals, helping children and supporting veterans. The two-day festival has much more to offer.
