DEARBORN —White House representative Farooq Mitha, who is Special Assistant in the Office of Small Business Programs, discussed small business and economic growth at the American Arab Chamber June 27 here.

Mr. Mitha said the Obama Administration are working to make it easier for small businesses to compete for contracts with the federal government. Some of the measures include, reducing barriers, streamlining contract process and providing information and data for business owners.
He also urged attendees to do business with the federal government because the government purchases everything from toilet paper, furniture and office supplies. The attendees also provided Mr. Farooq Mitha with recommendations to help small businesses.
Mr. Mitha promised to relate all the concerns to his superiors, keep the discussion going and visit the area later this year to hold more forums.
