According to sources, three new certified ESL teachers who speak Arabic fluently were hired to work in the Crestwood School District and assist bilingual students.
The changes reported by members of the community take place after the U.S. Department of Justice launched an investigation into the district seeking evidence of reports surrounding discrimination against Arab American students.
The DOJ became involved following a complaint that was filed with the agency by a school counselor who made accusations of discrimination and retaliation against the district.
