DEARBORN HEIGHTS — A meeting among parents, community members and Crestwood High School staff was held at CHS on Wednesday, Nov. 28 to discuss plans to improve the performance of student athletes. Dearborn Heights Community Organization President Hassan Bazzi says parents have wanted to meet with the school’s athletic director, and the head coaches of other athletic departments for a long period of time. There was a previous meeting held to discuss the topic, however not enough parents were notified, and another was scheduled. The principal of CHS and Crestwood Board of Education member Ed Garcia were also present at the meeting, where parents asked what role they could play in helping the athletic department and coaches in improving athletic performace. Bazzi noted that the school’s football team lost a large percentage of its games last year. He indicated that the meeting didn’t result in a plan of action to address the concerns, and says about 30 parents were present.g
