DEARBORN — The Democracy Institute at Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) will host Dr. Larry Korb, who will present “How Much for Defense? Foreign Policy and National Security on a Budget” in Room L-14 of the Liberal Arts Building, located on the main campus on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 11:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
It is free and open to the public. Korb is perhaps best known for serving as assistant secretary of Defense during the Reagan Administration from 1981-85. In this position, he administered nearly 70 percent of the defense budget. For his service, he won the Department of Defense’s Medal for Distinguished Public Service.
Currently, he is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, a public policy think tank in Washington, D.C., a senior advisor at the Center for Defense Information in Washington, D.C. and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University.
