DEARBORN — On Wednesday, Feb. 6 the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Dearborn will hold a kick off party at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center beginning 6 p.m. Relay For Life of Dearborn is April 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It is a fun and unique way for people to raise money for the battle against cancer, helping to save lives and create more birthdays right in their own communities. Teams of about 15 people camp out at a local high school or park and take turns walking around the track. Relays are overnight events with the perfect combination of exercise, entertainment, and inspiration. People participate to honor cancer survivors; remember those who lost their battle; get inspired by friends new and old; connect with communities; support those facing the disease; do their part in helping fight the disease and to thank and recognize caregivers. Robert Seeley, deputy emergency manager for the Dearborn Police Department, and ACS volunteer is looking for people and individuals to sponsor the event. Seeley can be reached at 313.802.2504 or by emailing rob_seeley@comcast.net.
