NEW YORK-According to a report from Families for Freedom and New York University Law School, U.S. Border Patrol officers are getting cash bonuses, extra vacation time, and even gift cards to Home Depot as a reward for how many immigrants they arrest. The report also shows hundreds of arrests include Green Card Holders, and other immigrants with valid documents. Border Patrol is reportedly the largest law enforcement agency in the country. Immigrant advocates say while the country is in need of immigration reform, it shouldn’t start with immigrants’ having their civil rights violated.
