DEARBORN-Nearly 20 journalists from around the world who’re part of the prestigious Knight Wallace journalism fellows program visited the Arab American National Museum (AANM) Tuesday where a panel discussion on reporting about Arabs living in and outside the United States was held.
Panel speakers included Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News, Anan Ameri, the director of the AANM, Rana Elmir, communications director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, Imam Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini of the Islamic Center of America, Hassan Jaber, executive director of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services, Robert Foley, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Detroit Division and Bushra Alawi, FBI Detroit community outreach specialist. Following the discussion, fellows asked panelists questions, and were treated to an Arabic lunch at the museum which they also toured.
