LANSING — Elected officials in Lansing are planning on making sexual intercourse between students and school officials illegal regardless of the student’s age. The state’s senate passed SB 135 which would make sex between school officials and students a felony, and considered, “criminal sexual conduct in the third degree.” It would also be punishable by imprisonment for more than 15 years. The bill has been sent to the House for consideration. It was sponsored by Republican Sen. Rick Jones of Grand Ledge.
