SOUTHFIELD — The Council on American Islamic Relations of Michigan is representing an incarcerated Muslim, who was denied halal food in the St. Clair County Jail. A lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan regarding the incident.
CAIR-MI has received numerous complaints about the lack of religious accommodations for detained Muslims in county jails and state prisons.
