STERLING HEIGHTS-A group of writers, poets, painters, sculptors, musicians, singers, academics, activists, and community organizers have established the Mesopotamian Forum for Arts and Culture (MFAC) to promote Iraqi heritage and art within the community.
The group supports local artists, and plans on inviting artists from Iraq and other parts of the world to hold joint ventures and events. It will also work with Iraqi and American institutions (government and civil) to bring together the old and the new art and culture for both worlds. On February 23 the group held a conference on Iraqi art and culture in Sterling Heights. For more info on the MFAC visit iraqimfac.com.
