DEARBORN HEIGHTS — Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano held a meeting with Arab American community leaders and representatives of various community organizations last Monday at Al Ameer Restaurant.
Ficano explained the reasons behind the current financial problems that the county is facing. He told community leaders that Wayne County depends on partial revenues collected from property taxes, and when they declined the county was struck with financial challenges.
Ficano mentioned that he’s currently in discussions with state and city officials to find solutions to the financial obstacles communities and counties across the state are facing.
